Say Goodbuy To Constipation,  A Drinking Water Filtration System Will Help You To Drink More Water!

Most people at some stage in their lives have suffered from constipation and we'd all have to agree that it is a very unpleasant condition. A variety of things can cause constipation, from insufficient dietary fiber to stress, but one of the most common causes of constipation is insufficient water intake. It is recommended by the experts that we drink 8-10 glasses of water each day to keep our bodies hydrated and functioning at optimum levels. However, few people drink enough water and is it any wonder when bottled water is so expensive to buy and drinking water from your tap is like drinking water from the local swimming pool? A drinking water filtration system  may be the answer you are looking for!

Home water filter systems come in many varieties. Counter-top, under-sink or faucet-mounted filters are filtration systems that you simply attach to your tap and  whole house water filters will filter all your household water. A water filter will supply you with endless gallons of inexpensive, great-tasting water.

What Exactly is Constipation?

Constipation is when bowel movements become difficult or less frequent. The food we eat moves through the small intestine mixed with digestive juices in a liquid form and by the time it has reached the large intestine, all the nutrients have been absorbed. The large intestine then absorbs the water from the waste liquid turning it into a solid, known as stool. Hard dry stools occur when the colon absorbs too much water, or if the muscles of the colon contact too slowly or are sluggish. When this occurs, the stool moves through the colon too slowly, sticking to the intestinal walls. In order to pass these hard dry stools, high-pressure waves in the intestines are needed and this places strain on the abdominal muscles to force the stool out. This abdominal strain over prolonged periods can cause hernias, varicose veins, hiatus hernias, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulae and in some cases can contribute to colon cancer.

A High Fiber Diet and Increased Fluids is a Must For Constipation Sufferers!

A high fiber diet is a must for constipation, as is drinking fresh juices and especially 8-10 glasses of filtered water daily. Filtered water will help to hydrate the body, adding more moisture to the colon and allowing softer stools to pass smoothly through the body. Tea, coffee and caffeinated drinks will only contribute to dehydration, and are therefore not recommended if you suffer from constipation.

If you are battling with constipation, installing a water filtration system in your home could be your answer. If your water tastes great you are more likely to drink more and if you drink more water, you are less likely to suffer from constipation.
